Today I’m sitting down with Vito (our Italian Stallion) to ask him a few quick q’s. Vito brings so much energy and light to our classes and North Park studio, and his classes are ALWAYS full of spice… something i’m sure you’re well acquainted with.
Vito has incredible passion for his craft and I am honestly so inspired by his passion and love for training.
Enjoy this read.
Hi Vito!
Can you tell us a bit about what inspired you to start working in the fitness industry?
Short answer is I decided to have a better relationship with food/ my body. Spin was a type of workout that made me feel like I was being active as well as having fun.
How would someone describe you in 3 words?
Funny, Energetic, adventurous
What do you love most about Activate House?
The vibe. Everyone is welcoming and supportive. Activate makes you feel like you’re part of something and you’re not only wanted but needed. Activate House is a safe place for everyone, whether it is to let some steam out, have fun, maybe trying new things, simply just meet new people and make new friends, Activate truly is a House of wellness not only physically but emotionally and spiritually as well
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’re only humans. No reward comes without hard work and dedication (or at least for most). In my personal experience the comparison to other people was the worst challenge I had to face, which resulted in having a bad relationship with food and my body. Looking back I would want to hug my younger self because every body is designed to be different and unique to itself. We are human beings not robots. The biggest piece of advice I learned was to see workouts as something I do for my mind as well as my body and not just for physical appearance. I always listen to my body now and do whatever it tells me to.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
All my fav coffee shops (Coffee & Tea Collective is one of them) sunset cliffs because it brings me peace and watching the sunset while eating a Açaí bowl is one of the most cali things I’ll ever do, and if they’re feeling a workout probably a hike or Activate House.
What are you most excited about?
I get excited about change, new things. As to my fitness journey I’m excited to keep growing and to build a community that I can inspire and let myself get inspired by. I’m ready to fully dive into this journey and I can’t wait to see what it’ll bring.
